A little bit about us
Two strangers, two cities, and one unexpected beginning.
Ours began the old-fashioned way, with a word from the families, and continued the new-fashioned way, across two cities and a time difference, in calls and countless conversations that were meant to be short and never were.
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. For us, every mile apart only made us long a little more for the day we’d finally meet, even as we knew, quietly and surely, that we’d already chosen each other.

The celebrations
There will be love. There will be dancing. There will be a hillside, a great deal of food, probably some happy tears, and definitely tequila. We’re so grateful you’ll be with us as this next chapter begins.
Colour, custom, and a long evening of music.
12:00pm
An afternoon of flowers by the water, with just a little turmeric. Henna, a long lunch, and someone will end up in the pool.
Poolside
7:00pm
Blessings to begin, then dinner, performances, and dancing under the open sky. Rehearsed numbers, unrehearsed numbers, and at least one uncle who will not leave the floor.
Aravali Lawn
Roots and rituals in the morning, blessings through the day, and the pheras as the sun goes down.
Roots, rituals & blessings
8:30am
Morning rituals and family blessings. The maternal side arrives bearing gifts, and breakfast is generous. Early, but worth the alarm.
Aravali Hall
11:30am
A long, lazy lunch by the pool. Dal baati churma and the rest of Rajasthan on a thali. Loosen the drawstring; there is a lot of day left.

Afternoon
2:00pm
The groom is readied and the sehra is tied. Lovekesh’s family gathers to bless him and take far too many photographs, before the drums start.
3:00pm
The procession sets off. Dhol, dancing, and the slowest hundred metres of the day. The bride’s side waits at the gate with a few tricks of their own.
Golden hour, forever
4:30pm
The exchange of garlands. Expect Lovekesh’s friends to lift him out of reach, and Aakanksha’s side to have planned for it.
German Hangar Lawn
5:30pm
Seven rounds of the sacred fire as the sun goes down. A few happy tears, then dinner. Stay for the dancing; it runs late.

What to wear
A guide, not a rulebook. Please don’t take any of it too seriously: as long as you feel beautiful, you’re good to go.
Love, Kansha

A burst of pastels, or floral fusion. Turmeric does not come out, so nothing precious.
Light evening glamour in contemporary Indian. Embroidery, shimmer, things that move when you dance.
Festive, in warm colours inspired by marigold and spices.
Ethnic and regal elegance. Sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, bandhgalas. Please leave bridal red for the bride.
January in Rajasthan is sunny by day and genuinely cold once the sun sets, often around 7°C. Bring a shawl or a jacket for the evenings, and shoes that can manage lawns.
The venue
Thirty acres of lawns and villas in a valley of the Aravalli foothills, about two hours’ drive from Jaipur, with the ramparts of Ajabgarh Fort on the ridge above and Bhangarh a short drive away. Both days take place within the resort.
Between celebrations there’s a long pool deck, the Tattva spa, and mustard fields to walk through at golden hour.
Fly into Jaipur (JAI), about two hours by road. From Delhi, it’s around four hours by car.
Transfer arrangements to follow.
Each venue is a few minutes’ walk from the next.
RSVP
A name and a number are all we need. The rest, we’ll take care of.
Can’t wait to see you there.
We’ve got your reply and can’t wait to see you in Ajabgarh.
